And we are about to start into our busiest year yet! With lots of project due for completion in 2010, we're looking forward to a bright new shiny decade ahead! For more info click her 26OCTOBER2009 We've been really busy recently with lots of new projects starting and more coming to a close. Our Kitchen cube extension in Clontarf is due for completion next week, click here for some new construction images. It was also great to see our Nutgrove Avenue extension featured on RTE's About the House with Duncan Stewart. Check back soon for more images of this project. 2 new projects have been added to the website and are due for completion next year. And lastly it has been a real pleasure for Open Office to work with the talented Senor Antonio Caballero, who this week departs our shores for his home island of Gran Canaria. This project has had several incarnations so we've taken the time to explain our design process to date and hopefully give you an insight into our working methods. 03JULY2009 After 2 months, several short nights, endless scribbles, a small pile of study models and a lot of coffee our entries for Europan 10 and the Dublin Parlour Design Competition have been completed. Competition images to follow shortly. 08 June 2009 New Photos of extension and renovation in Glasnevin 13MAY09 The nice folks at Image Interiors Magazine have published an article about our Ladies Island Project In other news we're mad busy here preparing our entry for the Europan competition which should appear online later in the summer. We dont want to disclose too much information just yet but it looks like its going to involve an experimental planning system, modular construction and some cabbage patches. 20MAR09 Open Office have recently collaborated with A2 Architects on the design of a Nursing Home in Co. Tipperary. Check out preliminary images here Open Office have also recently grown in number to include the formidable Antonio Caballero who is our current chief model maker. 12JAN09 Open Office are now taking bookings for BER Certification on new and existing dwellings. Please contact our office to arrange an appointment. 12DEC08 We've begun to look back on 2008 and its been a great year for Open Office. We have recently had some postive feedback from the blogosphere about our work and we look forward to the completion of several new projects in 2009. 06NOV08 See our new images detailing a project from dreams to construction in an extension and renovation to a family home in Glasnevin. 06NOV08 We've uploaded new shots of the Ladies Island residence taken by the wonderful Alice Clancy. Also big congrats to Matty M and all the guys at Grafton for their recent success at the World Architecture Festival Awards! 30OCT08 We've added a section for our entry to the West Cork Arts Centre Competition - which you can download here. We also had some delicious new photos taken of the Ladies Island extension which shall feature on the website very shortly. 26SEP08 Cork's 103FM will be interviewing Open Office about their design proposals for Public Showers on Monday at 11am. You can listen live here. 19SEP08: We finally got round to posting images of our much loved entry for the Henrietta Street Design Competition, which you can check out here. Alternatively you can download a PDF version of the presentation boards here. 12SEP08: After many weeks (and a few late nights) we submitted our entry for the West Cork Arts Centre Architectural Design Competition last week. Thanks to everyone who helped. 20AUG08: Our submission for the Henrietta St. Ideas Competition will be exhibited in Dublin City Council's office from the 1st of September. 13JUL08: We recently submitted our proposal for the Henrietta St. Ideas Competition and will have images online shortly. We also finally got round to having our first (and long overdue) Open Office party so thanks to everyone for coming. 26MAY08: It has taken almost four years to obtain but Airfield Road Mews was finally granted planning permission today. Construction images to follow soon.... 14MAY08: The Open Office team has recently expanded by 10 lbs. 13 oz. to include Mr. Cuan Fogarty who was born to proud parents Carol and Seán. 07APR08: We are delighted with the feedback we received from an Irish Times article by the wonderful Carl O'Brien which features a collaborative project between Open Office Architects and Trust Ireland. Click here to see the article. 31MAR08: In the closing moments of the 20th Century a crack design unit was sent to prison by a CAO court for a crime they didn't commit. 6 years later they escaped from a maximum security 3rd level institution to the Dublin underground.
