Our aim for this project was to explore the possibilities of a semi-permanent vernacular architecture which would be economical to construct, allow for easy adaption by home owners and make use of readily available materials.

It was our intention that the site for the competition (comprising of c.36 hectares of farmland along the western edge of Galway city) should retain its food producing capacity and be able to fluctuate in density in accordance with the requirements of the nearby city.
