VERSION 01VERSION 04 V.4 : The current design is shown in the top two pictures on the right. The principal elements are an overhanging roof which provides shade to the south facing interior and a glazed facade which offers uninterrupted views to the south and west. Methodology Working again with models we were able to explore several alternative designs including a linear extension which would shift in plan from interior to exterior as it progressed down the site. This was to be clad along its south face in Cor-ten steel which would alter in texture and colour through exposure to the elements. Designs featuring external timber cladding and exposed steel structure were also looked at but declined in favour of the simplicity of the top featured proposal. |
