SHANDON PARK EXTENSION

Introduction

Proposed

Design Development

The subject site for this project is a typical end of terrace red brick house in Dublin. The house is located within a conservation area which meant that the planning authority would only accept pitched roof extensions which did exceed the height of the existing house.

The clients required a two storey extension to the rear which would provide for extra sleeping accommodation and a larger kitchen.

Our design solution was to continue the existing pitched roof into the garden, allowing it to twist and fold around the new extension thus meeting the planning requirements while also providing an interesting piece of architecture for the clients.
